Photobooth Friday Eleven

Photobooth Friday
(say it with me: click on pic to see larger size)

Whew, the pictures I've been posting lately have been ginormous. This one is so small because if I posted the next bigger size it would do that pushing down of all my sidebar info thing. This is my last vintage offering for Photobooth Friday, at least for the present. Who knows, maybe I'll win the lottery and go on an eBay© vintage photo buying spree. What? You have to play the lottery to win the lottery? Meh. Anywho, ain't she purty? I love the fan and parasol. Guess we've got a bit of a Chinoiserie theme going there. The one with friend is funny. "Ok girls, look natural!"

In other news, starting Sunday night I'm going to have to go to bed at a reasonable hour, as my new job at Barnes & Noble starts Monday. For now I go in at 6am. Fun stuff. At first I will be stocking shelves and possibly cashiering (is that a word?), but since I'm a good 10 to 15 years older than most of the other employees, with a zillion years worth of customer service experience, I'm hoping to be on the fast track to something less 6am-ish. And hey, it'll pay some bills and be in one of my personal heavens on earth - a bookstore.

And in the tradition of my usual procrastinative (it's possible I made that word up) habits, I'm nowhere near ready for the craft fair weekend after this. Luckily for me my SIL will be helping me.

Ok, then... a wave of exhaustion just hit me and since I need to be alert enough to do Rise and Shine battle with Le Tween (my new name for her) bright and early, I shall take my leave.

If you read this early, make sure to check back later for other Photobooth Friday links. They usually have much better stories than I.

woo hoo! So happy for you! I worked at Waldenbooks on and off for years during high school and college. I loved it! Learned so much about authors - knew the top ten bestsellers in every category. Really helped me branch out and read different stuff. I've since regressed majorly and am back to reading mysteries almost exclusively. We used to get to take books home, read them, and them put them back on the shelf to sell - I wonder if you'll get to do that? Kind of like a library only a gazillon times better since you don't have to wait your turn for the bestsellers...

If i ever worked at a bookstore, i would basically become an indentured servant because of all the books i would buy. Have fun!

Oh man, I would never make a cent if I worked at a bookstore! It isn't by chance the big new-ish one in Escondidl, is it?

Btw, I brought you an Italian chocolate bar ;)

Oh my gosh - SIX AM?!

I'm tired just thinking about it.

Getting up at 7am to run is WAY TOO EARLY for me.

No worries Teri. You know about books. Most of the people in bookstores (that I've dealt with anyway) are like "The catcher in the what?" If the the Managers are any good, they will figure that out quickly. Good luck!

Mom: Thanks :) ...and I've got the ginormous book collection to prove it!

Katherine: I am looking forward to expanding my reading horizons. And we do get to "check out" hardcover books. I'm very excited about that!

Meno: I am going to have to be very careful, but luckily we get to borrow books, so hopefully that will help!

Debbies: It's the one in La Mesa - a little far away. :( YAY FOR ITALIAN CHOCOLATE!! You lucky girl, you. :D

s@bd: It's going to take some getting used to... I've been going to bed at 9:30 and taking a little nap when I get home. YYYYAAAAAWWWWWWN

LeS: Hee... everyone is making me blush! I know, I know... I hear our Museum of Photographic Arts has two really good old timey booths. Ssssssoooon... ;)

Bo: I am counting on maturity (hey, no laughing) and geeky readeriness (new word!) to win out over youth and lack of experience. Learning how things need to be done is making me a bit nervous, but I'm working through it. Thanks! :)
