Mother's Day Meal Recap

Not only does my man wield a mean nail gun, but he can cook, too. Sunday he did our kitchen proud. Spring greens with a citrus vinaigrette. Scallops baked in garlic, butter and 6 Italian cheeses. Julienne vegetable medley roasted with garlic and rosemary. And filet mignon, grilled over applewood, served on a bed of couscous, topped with a mushroom demi-glace/red wine reduction, garnished with parsley and a slice of shitake. He rocks. Ooooh yeah.

I'm a vegetarian and that meal description made my mouth water. Happy Mother's Day a day late! :)

Cool for the appliances! One thing that sort of bums me out is that my magnets don't stick. My husband was very happy about that, though. Butthead. lol

I must say I do love to cook, but it's good that one of you cooks. And besides, who says it's the wife that has to cook??

Thanks for the Happys. :-)

I love that your man cooks. Maybe he should donate some time to Happy Housewife. With 4 kids, I'm thinking she could use a catered meal.

Now get some more blogs up!

Uh excuse me???! I think your husband is PERFECT. Can he make me a meal now?

My husband and I couldn't cook to save lives... LIVES.

Mama P: And I would love to personally deliver a meal to the darling! I mean - a trip to England AND tea with her? That would be FAB.

Vi: Ok - his ego is expanding as we speak. He said if I'm trying to suck up to him, it's working. LOL In the interest of his big ol' head taking up all the pillow space on our CalKing, I must tell you that he does have a couple of annoying habits. But overall, I totally landed a good one. And on my first try, even. Tell ya what - once the livingroom is done (cuz it's a total hazard and our couch is in the diningroom - as shown previously) plan a trip down and we'll cook for you! :-)

No way! I love my man, I do, but homemade to him is raviolis from the freezer section.

You so had me at scallops that by the time I got to the filet mignon I started to weep.

It was truly a beautiful thing, Lena. And he wants to take some cooking classes, too! The knowledgeable use of power tools is what keeps me from worrying. ;-)
